Calm Little Minds

A Mindfulness Event for Children and Their Carers

What is this Event About?

Join us for a special event designed to help little minds learn how to calm themselves while giving parents, teachers, and carers the tools to support them. In today's busy world, teaching children mindfulness can make a huge difference in their well-being, focus, and emotional resilience.

We are thrilled to welcome the author of Be Here Now, who will read this beautiful story to our audience, followed by an engaging Q&A session. This heartwarming book helps children understand the power of being present and finding calm in everyday moments.

To deepen the experience, a Master's student in psychology will share insights into mindfulness for little ones and lead simple yet effective exercises. These techniques can be practiced at home, in the classroom, or independently, helping children develop lifelong skills for managing emotions and staying centered.

This event is perfect for families, educators, and caregivers who want to bring more mindfulness into children's lives. Come along, listen, learn, and take away practical tools to help little minds find their calm.

Sainab's journey is one of resilience, transformation, and hope. Born into the turmoil of war, her family was forced to flee to Somalia, where she spent her early years in refugee camps. At just six years old, she arrived in the UK, carrying both the weight of her past and the dreams of a brighter future.

Growing up, anxiety was a constant companion. She tried everything—therapy, medication, and countless self-help approaches—but nothing truly freed her from the grip of fear and worry. That all changed when she discovered mindfulness and the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. In presence, she found the peace she had been searching for all her life. Anxiety and doubt gave way to deep joy, clarity, and a profound sense of inner calm.

As her transformation unfolded, friends and family began seeking her guidance, drawn to the peace and presence she radiated. Inspired to help others find the same freedom, she pursued formal training in mindfulness, including courses with Eckhart Tolle himself.

Determined to make mindfulness accessible to all, Sainab wrote a children's book to help young minds, especially those who have faced hardship, learn these life-changing skills early. She knows firsthand how powerful mindfulness can be in transforming fear into inner strength.

Today, Sainab is dedicated to guiding others on their journey from anxiety to peace, from fear to freedom. With warmth, wisdom, and deep compassion, she helps people step into the present moment and discover the joy that has always been within them.

Master's Student in Psychology

Hi, I am Helle, and I am a psychology student in Norway. I have been so lucky to be asked to attend this event based on my background in psychology, and an interest in mindfulness.

I am a person who loves to get new experiences, I love learning, and being challenged. This is maybe also why psychology is the third degree that I started, and the second that I will finish. It is maybe also why I decided to travel a lot, study abroad and never seem to get tired of this.

Although changing direction, and going to new and foreign places can sometimes be uncomfortable and stressful, I am a firm believer of how newness and challenge is a necessity for also feeling sense of mastery, appreciation, and a good path to get to know yourself and get closer to «the otherness» around you.

Another big part of my life is sports and nature. I love feeling how the body allows us to do activities and how muscles and reactions also have a memory, and the feeling of ableness. I also love the smell of the forest after it has been raining, the feeling of the wind on my face, the biting cold that prickles. The view once you reach the summit, and the force of the waves.
